    in addition to her fourth CAA Rookie of the Week nod, Hofstra’s Ashunae Durant was selected as the USBWA Women’s National Freshman of the Week and the Corvias ECAC Metro/Upstate Women’s Basketball Rookie of the Week after averaging a double-double over three games for the Pride.

    In the final week of play before Christmas break, there were some outstanding performances. Hofstra knocked off Boston College on the Eagles’ home court, UNCW’s Kelva Atkins dropped in 40 points and posted her 1,000th career point, and James Madison’s Precious Hall had her second 30-point game of the year.

    Hofstra University’s Ashunae Durant is only nine games into her collegiate career, but she is already making an impact. The guard was named both the CAA Women’s Basketball Player and Rookie on Monday after a season-best 20-point effort for the Pride against NJIT.
