Home-Sweet-Home: Delle Donne Returns to The Bob

May 13, 2014, 10:10 AM EST

Former University of Delaware women’s basketball standout Elena Delle Donne will return to her old stomping grounds this evening as a member of the WNBA’s Chicago Sky in a preseason exhibition contest against the Washington Mystics.

Tipoff is slated for 7 p.m. at the Bob Carpenter Center.  Limited tickets remain for the game.

Delle Donne, a Wilmington, Del. native, began her esteemed career with the Blue Hens in 2009 where she became one of the most successful student-athletes in the school’s history. Delle Donne earned CAA Player of the Year honors three times during her tenure with the Blue Hens.

Also returning to a familiar court is Sky teammate Tamera Young, a James Madison all-star and CAA Player of the Year (2008), who played four years in the CAA with yearly competition at the University of Delaware.
