No. 3. Drexel (20-9) vs. No. 6 William and Mary (8-21)
When: 7:30 p.m. Friday

What you need to know about the Dragons: Drexel had a shot at the No. 2 seed in the tournament but lost to JMU in the final regular season finale. CAA first-teamer Hollie Mershon leads Drexel in  nearly every statistical category, including scoring (19.4 ppg) and rebounding (6.4 ppg). Defensive stopper Taylor Wootten averages 11 points; the Dragons’ depth was hurt when senior Nicki Jones tore her ACL. Freshman Meghan Creighton has started all 29 games. Twice Drexel, CAA Tournament finalist a year ago, has rallied from 15 down to win, defeating JMU and Hofstra. Drexel ranks second to Delaware in the CAA in scoring defense, allowing 52.3 ppg. The Dragons swept the series with the Tribe.

What you need to know about the Tribe: Don’t count out this veteran-laden team anchored by senior Emily Correal, who has led the team in scoring 17 times and is making her 114th start, the most by any player in Tribe history. Correal ranks fourth in the CAA in scoring, averaging 16.8 ppg; senior Janine Aldridge averages 13.5 ppg. Aldridge became the school’s all-time leader in steals this season. William and Mary did not win a conference game away from Kaplan Arena and is 1-15 on the road. The Tribe ranks 10th in the league in scoring defense
