Evans Becomes HU’s All-Time Rebounder

Nov 29, 2012, 4:37 PM EDT

Senior forward Shante Evans pulled down a game-high 14 rebounds on Nov. 28 during Hofstra’s loss to Marist to help record her third double-double of the season and her 53rd double-double of her career. Amazingly, her first carom of the contest allowed her to become Hofstra’s all-time leading rebounder as she broke her tie with Kate Gordon (1994-98). Evans finished the night with a career 1,045 rebounds and entered the CAA top 10 knocking out George Mason’s Nickie Hilton (1990-94), who had recorded 1,034 during her career with the Patriots. Evans has averaged over 330 rebounds per year during her career with the Pride. The CAA record is held by James Madison’s Meredith Alexis (2004-07) with 1,313 and Evans is on pace to challenge Alexis’ mark this season. Check out Evans’ post-game interview after she became Hofstra’s all-time rebounder. Congrats Shante!
