A number of high-school student-athletes placed their names along the dotted lines last week as Nov. 14th was the first day of the 2012 NCAA early signing period for women’s basketball. Many schools announced their additions over the past week and below you can click on the schools to read more about the players who signed National Letters of Intent to play in the CAA in 2013-14.
Jeri Porter announced the signing of three NLIs for George Mason‘s 2013-14 season. Comprising the signing class are Chardell Dunningan (Twinsburg, Ohio/Twinsburg), Brittany Jackson (Potomac, Md./Bullis School) and Denisha Petty-Evans (Bridgewater, N.J./Bridgewater Raritan Regional).
Georgia State inked a trio of post players for next season as the Panthers will play in the Sun Belt. Sharon Baldwin-Tener will welcome Haley Gerrin (Clarksville, Ga./Habersham Central), Ashanti Groover (Bartow, Fla./Bartow Sr.) and Jamila Mayfield (Macon, Ga./Howard HS).
Krista Kilburn-Stevesky announced that a pair of student-athletes have signed NLIs to begin their academic and athletic careers at Hofstra in the fall of 2013. Guards Krystal Luciano (San Juan, Puerto Rico/Colegio San Antonio) and Kelly Loftus (Alexandria, VA/Mount Vernon) will be joining the Pride. The signing gives Hofstra an international flair with Luciano having played for the Puerto Rico national team. Loftus has also played for the AAU Cardinals.
Towson signed three student-athletes in the early period to join the Tigers’ program for the 2013-14 season. The trio includes forward Brianna Bush (Fort Washington, Md./Elizabeth Seton), wing Paige Mosley (Atlanta, Ga./Wesleyan) and center Stephanie Ratliff (Orlando, Fla./Dr. Phillips).
Debbie Taylor and the Tribe look to welcome forward Kasey Curtis (Manassas, Va./Paul VI) guard Alexis Hofstaedter (Richboro, Pa./Council Rock), guard Latrice Hunter (Norfolk, Va./Norfolk Christian) and guard Marlena Tremba (Vienna, Va./Paul VI) for the 2013-14 season as they recently signed the NLI.
We hope to add another edition to the blog as the rest of the CAA members announce their signees, so check back often.
