Ode to Joyous

Mar 8, 2012, 10:31 PM EDT

George Mason’s Joyous Tharrington has her own cheering section and her own shirt.

“It takes faith,” reads the front of the shirt and on the back under “33 Tharrington” is the chapter and verse of Tharrington’s favorite biblical quote, Jeremiah 29, Verse 11.

The actual verse reads “for I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, that of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.”

“She lives by that,” said her god sister, Tiffanie Couts, who designed the shirts in Patriot colors.

Mom and Dad are also wearing them.

“She’s put God first in her life,” said her mother, Dawn. “She’s made us proud.”
