Five questions with ODU’s Tia Lewis

Mar 8, 2012, 7:33 PM EDT

Chatted with the affable Tia Lewis, the second-team All-CAA forward, who averaged 16.5 ppg and 9 rpg during the regular season. The senior scored 22 with eight boards against Towson.

So many tattoos?

“I have 13 of them.”

Your favorite?

Lewis, who hails from Poulan, Ga., reveals her back side, which shows off the state of Georgia with a peach in the middle.

You’ve got the greatest fingernails in the CAA (always a different color). Tell us about the color.

“Today it’s midnight blue — to go with my cheetah dress last night.”

You’ve talked about enjoying the art of sleep. What other plans do you have for the day?

Actually we’re going to a daycare to read to the kids (the day care in nearby Capital Heights is owned by the mother of ODU freshman Tiffany Minor).

Your favorite children’s book?

” ‘The Ugly Duckling.’ ” I read that all the time as a kid.”

What else would we be surprised to learn about Tia?

Answer comes from teammate Jackie Cook. “She sings all the time. She’s really good at rapping. She does it with her Beats on so she can’t her herself.”

Lewis smiles. ”My favorite rapper is Young Jeezy.”
