2011-12 Towson Tiger Tour

Oct 17, 2011, 10:01 PM EDT

: Joe Mathews

Last year: 9-21, 3-15 CAA, lost to Drexel in CAA Tournament first round

Who’s missing: Forward Dovile Miliauskaite (7.6 ppg, 7.5 rpg), guard Simona Petronyte (7.6 ppg), guard Charmonique Watt (2.5 ppg), forward Jessica Haywood (2.5 ppg).

What’s new: Two intriguing transfers – ex-North Carolina forward Nyree Williams (an Ellicott City, Md. native) and 6-2 former junior college forward Michelle Peebles. Also, a six-player freshman class highlighted by local star Ciara Webb, an All-Metro guard from Baltimore’s Patterson High.

The headliner: Brooklyn-born senior guard Krystal Parnell, the only Tiger to average double figures last season (10.5 ppg) and a player whose assist total (134) was higher than any other five Towson players combined.

Would like to see more from: Redshirt senior guard Sheree Ledbetter, a St. John’s transfer who was solid last season (8.7 ppg) but has All-CAA potential.

Welcome back: Redshirt senior guard Meredith Kennedy, who sat all of 2010-11 after sustaining a preseason injury.

The challenge: To deftly blend this intriguing class of newcomers and veterans.

We like their chances if: The newcomers can pick things up quickly, particularly the transfers.

Sexy non-conference matchup: At UConn, Nov. 30. No explanation necessary.
