When Stuck, Follow The Duck – Towson WBB’s “Ducky”

Towson women’s basketball squad captured a win in Boston over Northeastern on Tuesday evening, but after the snow storm that swept a majority of the US, the team’s flight was cancelled and the Tigers spent another 24+ hours in Boston. The Tigers, who are scheduled to fly home Thursday morning to welcome Hofstra for a CAA contest that same evening, spent Wednesday keeping busy in Boston and well, if you followed their twitter account – @Towson_WBB – you got to follow the “Adventures of Ducky” throughout the day too. So for a little light fun from the Towson women’s basketball team and Ducky, I wanted to share with our followers some postings from – The Adventures of Ducky.

Adventures of Ducky

Ducky, a staple complimentary gift from The Colonnade Hotel, became a secondary traveling mascot for the Tigers as they were stuck in Boston due to the snow storm. Ducky posed some light fun throughout the day from morning to night. Here is Ducky peeking out the window checking out the weather for the Tigers’ women’s basketball team.

source: Ducky, a smart feathered friend, was a big help during study hall while helping the student-athletes study during their time away from class.
source: The Northeastern Huskies allowed the Tigers some practice time at Cabot Center.  So Ducky suggested a game of Horse, of course!

Ducky got to even play in the snow on the way to help with laundry. I am kind of thinking that Ducky would have rather enjoyed time in some bubbles rather than snow… but just my guess! ;o)

Ducky was honored to have the Tiger managers doing impressions of Ducky!

source: And how could a #ducksnowday go without a #selfie!  Here you have Towson Athletic Media Relations Assistant Director Megan O’Brien with Ducky and some teammates posing for the famous #selfie!

source: Ducky, the webbed footed friend, helped out with updating the game notes for Thursday’s “Pink Game” against Hofstra. Hopefully Ducky got a good nights rest before the big flight home to Maryland and the game against the Pride. I would assume Ducky has a big trip this weekend with the Tigers against James Madison as well… we will have to watch the Tigers’ Twitter account to find out if Ducky makes the trip.

Thanks Ducky for sharing your adventures with us during a day. You can check out all of the postings from Ducky and the Towson women’s basketball team on their Twitter account on @Towson_WBB.

I am thinking the only thing missing from the “Adventures of Ducky” is Ducky taking a Duck Boat Tour — I mean, you were in Boston, just during the wrong season! Looks like you and the Tigers made the best of a tough situation. The #CAAHoops family wish you and your team the best on a trip back to Maryland!
